Typhoon Ondoy: How We Can Help

Last September 26 2009, Manila has gone through probably one of the worst typhoons in the Philippine history. Ondoy is now gone but the damage has been done. Hundreds of people have lost their homes, some have even lost their loved ones.

These people need our help and every single effort, no matter how small, would definitely go a long way. For those stuck at home with an internet connection and for those who cannot physically go and volunteer, here's what we can do:

1. try and help the Typhoon Ondoy Mapping Team. They are a " group of volunteers who are marking affected areas via Google Maps. The form is very easy to use. It provides very good context on the location and situation of affected areas and victims. "

2. Donate through online banking, paypal, or via SMS. please go to: OndoyManila for the complete list.

3. Help repost calls for help using our twitter accounts, facebook, etc.

4. PRAY. prayers go a long, long way.

One thing I have always held on to in times of hardship is the thought that God does not give us a challenge that we cannot conquer. I know the damage is immense and a lot of work is needed, but if every Filipino would do their part, I have no doubt that we can go past this. At this point, every single thing helps.
